Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty In a Nutshell
What is it?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty involves soft tissue fillers being injected into targeted areas of the nose in order to improve on minor irregularities that may have been caused as a result of rhinoplasty and to give the nose a more balanced and improved appearance.
Who is it for?
Anyone looking to:
- augment the dorsum (bridge of the nose)
- improve irregularities following rhinoplasty
- fill small depressions in the area of the nose
- add volume to the nose
- improve the overall appearance of the nose
How It Works
Just like for any other area of the face, with Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty, soft tissue fillers are injected into areas of the nose in order to improve its overall contour and shape. When it comes to Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty, soft tissue fillers can be used in order to correct some specific concerns you might have.
At BarBeauty we offer a number of microneedling treatments. From microneedling with radio frequency (RF) energy, Morpheus8, to microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma), also known as the vampire facial. The most popular microneedling treatments however, also known as skin and beauty boosters, are those that combine microneedling with hyaluronic acid (HA). The combination of HA and microneedling is what makes the treatments so powerful.
Hyaluronic acid is a nutrient that is already naturally present in our body, but with aging, it gets depleted over time. HA can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water, which is why it is such an incredible agent of hydration. By injecting HA via numerous tiny injections it stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin in your body. As a result these microneedling treatments act as skin boosters improving, elasticity, luminosity, and smoothness in the skin, as well as enhancing your overall complexion.
The Procedure
Microneedling skin and beauty boosters can be performed with a V2 Gun or alternatively your provider can do it with a needle by hand. Treatments take anywhere from 15-30 minutes.
If you are having microneedling with hyaluronic acid delivered by the V2 Gun, we typically dilute the hyaluronic acid. The treatment is performed by an aesthetician who will begin by applying a topical numbing agent to ensure you are comfortable throughout the entire procedure. This treatment is particularly good for a patient looking to correct skin concerns like early fine lines, pigmentation concerns, acne scars, textural irregularities and who is looking to improve on the overall appearance and glow of the skin.
Microneedling with non-diluted hyaluronic acid is delivered via a needle. This is performed by a nurse or doctor. The needle allows the practitioner more control over where and how the substance is injected. It is better for patients who are looking to tighten the skin and restore volume. We find this to be a better treatment for more mature patients with delicate loose skin who might find the V2 gun too powerful for them.
Your body will then begin to work at repairing those tiny injections by producing more elastin and collagen, which will in turn strengthen and thicken your skin improving its overall quality and texture.
Prior to the procedure you will need to avoid taking any non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS), Vitamin E, aspirin, St. John’s Wort, as well as avoid drinking alcohol as this could increase the likeliness of bruising and bleeding.
We also recommend that you drink lots of water before treatment and remain well-hydrated in the 24 hours following the procedure.
Are Microneedling Skin and Beauty Boosters for you?
We highly recommend that you book an in-person complimentary consultation with one of our BarBeauty providers in order to discuss your aesthetic goals, and assess whether this is the right treatment for you.
At BarBeauty we strive to create a personalized treatment plan that is right for you. At your consultation your provider will ask you about your medical history and about any medications you are currently taking.
Microneedling skin and beauty booster treatments are generally great for all skin types. Men and women aged 20+ looking to combat aging skin, acne scarring, melasma (effective with a combination treatment plan), hyper-pigmentation, as well as fine lines and wrinkles, are good candidates for this treatment. The treatments are equally effective for anyone looking to improve the overall quality of their skin, looking to hydrate their skin, and make their skin more luminous.
Who should not consider having Microneedling Skin and Beauty Boosters?
We don’t recommend dermal fillers for anyone who is currently pregnant or breastfeeding, but not to worry, if you did get a treatment before you knew you were pregnant, there’s nothing to worry about. It’s unlikely that fillers have an impact on the developing fetus or a breastfeeding child, but we just don’t have the research to support that.
Allergic reactions to the dermal fillers we use (which are all hyaluronic acid) are very rare, but if you know that you are allergic to any of the proteins used to make hyaluronic acid you should avoid this treatment. Additional contraindications include: anyone who has a bleeding disorder or severe allergic reactions.
We won’t want to inject anyone who has an active injury near the injection site.
When can I expect to see results?
You can expect a couple of days of social downtime following your microneedling treatment. You also need to be patient with this treatment. You won’t really see results immediately. Some mild edema causes the skin to look plump, but full results are not seen until 1 month after you receive your third treatment. This is because you need to allow your body time to naturally produce the collagen and elastin that will revitalize your skin.
Will I need more than one treatment?
We conduct 3 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart. After your series of three treatments you can repeat the procedure once or twice a year to maintain your glowing results.
Are there any side effects?
You can expect slight bleeding during treatment. Following treatment you might experience some swelling, bruising, and redness around the treated area which should resolve itself within two weeks. Some patients may also feel a burning sensation at the sites of injection, which should resolve itself quite soon after the procedure.
Some patients also experience some social down-time following the treatment. You may see small raised bumps that last 24-72 hours post treatment. So definitely don’t plan to get this done a day or two before a big event. We also recommend that you avoid wearing make-up and any strenuous exercise for 24 hours following your treatment.
We’re here to walk you through every step of the process. Including the part where you ask 100+ questions.
We’re so excited to get started with you and can’t wait to deliver a beautiful, natural look.
