Yes, your butt can get a facial. The skin back there deals with the same stuff your face does, breakouts, ingrown hairs, dark marks, rough patches, just under thicker skin that sweats and rubs against leggings all day. Our booty facial is the medical-grade version of dealing with it. We deep clean, exfoliate with acids and a bit of manual polish, clear out clogged pores, then finish with a brightening step. It runs 70 minutes and it is $200 at our Toronto clinic.

Most people come in for one of a few reasons. Bumps that flare after spin class. Old razor-burn marks that never faded. Skin that looks fine in clothes but not in a swimsuit. Whatever it is, this is built for the back and the glutes specifically, not a face protocol stretched to fit.

What a booty facial is

It is exactly what it sounds like. A facial, but for your glutes, lower back, and the tops of your thighs. The skin there is thicker and more prone to clogged follicles, so the actives and the technique are tuned for that. We cleanse to get rid of sweat and oil buildup, exfoliate to lift dead skin and unclog pores, do extractions on whatever is congested, run high frequency to settle the bacteria that drive breakouts, then layer on a treatment mask and seal it with serum and moisturizer. You can go straight back to your day after. No downtime, just don’t put on tight leggings for a few hours.

What it actually targets, no fluff

Plain version: this clears congestion and calms the things that make butt skin look bumpy or blotchy. Salicylic acid does most of the heavy lifting because it gets down into the oily part of the follicle where surface scrubs cannot reach. We add mandelic acid for sensitive or darker skin that browns easily. Extractions clear the clogged pores. A high frequency or LED pass knocks back acne bacteria and inflammation. Then a barrier step puts moisture back. For dark marks we layer in azelaic or tranexamic acid. For real texture or old scarring we might add microneedling down the line, but that is a separate conversation, not part of the base facial.

What it does not do is lift or tighten anything. A facial works on skin, not muscle. If contouring is the goal, that is a different treatment entirely, and we will point you there instead of overselling this one.

Who it suits, and who should wait

Good fit: active breakouts on the glutes, ingrown hairs, dark spots left behind by old acne or shaving, mild bumpy keratosis pilaris, rough texture. Men and women both, roughly 18 to 60. About one in five of our booty facial clients are men, usually carrying it up from back acne.

Hold off or talk to us first if you have an eczema or psoriasis flare in the area (we calm that first), if you are on Accutane (we skip the device add-ons), or if your skin is sunburned or very thin right now. During pregnancy we run a stripped-back, mandelic-only version and skip the stronger acids. And if you have severe cystic acne, you need a doctor and likely medication before a facial will help, so we will refer you out. A clinic that treats everyone without asking is not really screening.

How many you need

For most concerns, three to six visits spaced two to three weeks apart, then once a month to maintain. One session makes skin look and feel cleaner right away, but the marks and the deeper texture need the series to actually shift. We track it with photos under the same lighting so you can see the change instead of guessing at it.

Aftercare for the first few days

Keep it simple. The first 12 hours, expect mild pinkness and skip the friction, so loose clothing, no leggings. Gentle cleanser only for the first day, and mineral SPF on anything that sees sun. For the first three days, no hot tub, no sauna, no sweaty workouts, and no shaving or waxing the area. After that you ease back to normal, and a little flaking around week two is fine. If anything feels off, call us. Most aftercare hiccups are tiny and easy to fix if we hear about them early.

How it compares to a spa scrub

Treatment Best for Downtime
Medical booty facial Acne, dark marks, ingrowns, KP, mild scarring 0 to 1 day pinkness
Body scrub at a spa Surface smoothing, that’s it None
At-home glycolic lotion Upkeep between visits None
Aerolase laser for body acne Inflamed papules and dark marks None

No single row is the right answer for everyone. The consult is where we match your skin type, your budget, and your timeline to the right mix.

Treatments we pair with the booty facial

Better results usually come from a smart combination, not one treatment cranked to its limit. If breakouts are the main issue, we often run the facial alongside Aerolase, the same gentle 1064nm laser we use for acne and rosacea on the face. If ingrown hairs are the root of the problem, pairing with laser hair removal handles the cause while the facial clears the surface. For old indented scars, a series of facials preps the skin and microneedling resurfaces it. Dark marks from years of razor burn respond well to the brightening layers we build in. Order matters here, so we map the whole thing on your first chart instead of selling visits one at a time. Pricing is on the price list.

Questions people ask about the booty facial

Is it just a regular facial on my butt?

No. Glute skin is thicker, sweatier, and more prone to folliculitis, so the acids, the order, and the aftercare are all different from a face treatment.

Does it hurt?

Extractions can sting a little and the peel is a warm tingle. Most people call it a 2 to 4 out of 10.

How many sessions?

Three to six, two to three weeks apart for most concerns, then monthly to keep it up.

Can men book it?

Absolutely. Roughly 20 percent of our booty facial clients are men, often as a continuation of treating back acne.

Will it get rid of cellulite?

No. Cellulite is a connective-tissue thing under the skin. A facial works on the skin’s surface, tone, and breakouts, not the structure underneath.

Can I work out the same day?

Skip the heavy sweating for 24 hours after. After that you are clear.

How soon before a wedding or a shoot?

Book the final session 5 to 7 days out, never the day before. Skin needs a little time to settle.

Is it covered by insurance?

It is cosmetic, so generally no. Some HSA plans reimburse with an itemized receipt, which we are happy to provide.

What actually causes booty and body breakouts

The skin on your glutes deals with a specific set of problems, and knowing which one you have changes the plan. Most “butt acne” is not true acne at all, it is folliculitis, an inflammation of the hair follicles driven by sweat, friction, and bacteria, which is why it flares after workouts and long days in leggings. Keratosis pilaris, the small rough bumps many people have on the back of the arms, shows up on the glutes and thighs too, and it is a buildup of keratin around the follicle rather than a breakout. Ingrown hairs come from shaving and waxing the bikini line. And the dark patches left behind, the ones people most want gone, are post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from old bumps, friction, and constant rubbing against tight clothing. The booty facial is built to clear and calm all of these, and the consult is where we sort out which mix is yours.

Booty facial for specific concerns

For folliculitis and congestion, the salicylic and mandelic acids plus extractions and a high frequency or LED pass do the work, clearing the follicle and knocking back the bacteria that keep it inflamed. For keratosis pilaris, regular exfoliation smooths the bumps and improves the texture, though KP is genetic and managed rather than cured. For ingrown hairs along the bikini line, the facial clears the surface while pairing with laser hair removal addresses the root cause. For dark marks, we layer in brightening acids like azelaic and tranexamic across the series, and pair with daily SPF on anything that sees sun. And for pre-event prep before a wedding, a vacation, or a shoot, we book the final session five to seven days out so skin is calm and clear, never the day before.

How the booty facial differs from a back facial

This page is about the glutes, hips, bikini line, and upper thighs. If your concern is your back, shoulders, or chest, that is a different treatment with different positioning and equipment, and we cover it in detail on our back facial in Toronto page. Many people book both, and we can plan them together so the whole body is clear for an event.

Men and the booty facial

Roughly one in five of our booty facial clients are men, usually addressing folliculitis or breakouts that extend down from the back. The treatment and aftercare are the same, and the room is always private.

What it costs

The booty facial is seventy minutes at two hundred dollars, with package pricing for a clearing course. Your free consult comes with a written plan, and the full menu is on our price list.

Is butt acne the same as face acne?

Usually no. Most booty breakouts are folliculitis, an inflamed follicle from sweat and friction, rather than the hormonal, oil-driven acne you get on the face. That is why the protocol and the aftercare are different.

Will it help keratosis pilaris on my glutes?

It improves the rough texture and the look of the bumps with regular exfoliation. KP is genetic, so it is managed over time rather than cured, but consistent treatment makes a real difference.

How do I stop the marks from coming back?

Loose breathable fabrics, showering and changing out of sweaty clothes promptly, not picking at bumps, and daily SPF on exposed skin. We build a simple home routine into your plan.
