Every consultation at Bar Beauty Medical is free. You can have it in the clinic or by video, and you can book it for your skin or for injectables. It takes 20 to 30 minutes, you get a straight answer about what would actually help, and you are under no obligation to book a treatment afterwards.
The four consultations, and which one to book
In-Person Skin Consultation, 30 minutes
For skin. Texture, tone, pigment, acne, scarring, redness, ageing. You come to the clinic, we look at your skin properly under clinical lighting, and we build a plan around what we can actually see and feel. Book this one if your concern is your skin and you can get to CityPlace.
Virtual Skin Consultation, 30 minutes
The same conversation over video. Book this if you are not sure what you need yet, you are deciding between two treatments, you want a second opinion on something you were quoted elsewhere, or a trip downtown for a conversation is not worth it.
Injectables Consultation, 20 minutes
For neurotoxin and filler. Held in the clinic, because assessing where a line sits when you move, how much volume has gone and what your anatomy will take needs you in the room. Book this if you already know you want injectables and you want a plan and a written quote.
Virtual Injectable Consultation, 30 minutes
Injectables discussed over video. This one carries a $100 booking deposit. That deposit goes toward the cost of your treatment, and if you decide not to go ahead with anything it is refunded. The other three consultations have no deposit at all.
What you get out of it
By the end you will know what we would suggest, what it costs, how many visits it would take, and what it will not fix. We put the quote in writing before anything is booked.
If the answer is that you do not need a treatment yet, we will say that. If the answer is that what you want is not something we do, or not something that will work for you, we will say that too and point you somewhere sensible.
What video can tell us, and what it cannot
Video handles more than people expect. Texture, tone, pigment patterns, redness, how your skin behaves through the day, your routine and your products all come across well enough to give you a real answer.
Video does not handle everything. The depth of a scar, volume loss, exactly how a line sits when you move, and anything that needs to be felt rather than seen all need you in the room. Phone lighting also flatters pigment. When something genuinely needs hands or proper lighting we will tell you on the call rather than guess, and we will move you to an in-clinic visit.
That is the honest trade-off. Video is the faster way to get pointed in the right direction. In person is the way to get a plan you can rely on.
Who should book something else instead
If your concern is a mole, a lesion, a rash or anything that might need a medical opinion, see your family doctor or a dermatologist first. We are a medical aesthetics clinic and we are not a substitute for that.
If you want a detailed imaging-based skin assessment rather than a conversation, that is our Skin Analysis Consultation, which is a separate paid service.
What happens after
We send you a short written summary of what we discussed and what we suggested, so you have it rather than trying to remember it. If you want to go ahead, you book. If you want to think about it, nothing happens and nobody chases you.
Questions
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The in-person skin consultation, the virtual skin consultation and the in-clinic injectables consultation are all free with no deposit. Only the virtual injectable consultation carries a $100 deposit, and that is applied to your treatment or refunded if you do not proceed.
How long does it take?
30 minutes for the skin and virtual injectable consultations, 20 minutes for the in-clinic injectables consultation.
Do I have to book a treatment afterwards?
No. Plenty of people book a consultation, get an answer, and decide the timing is not right. That is a perfectly good outcome and we would rather you did that than book something you are unsure about.
Can I do this if I live outside Toronto?
Yes, the virtual consultations work from anywhere. Any treatment you go on to book would need you at our clinic at 46 Fort York Blvd in CityPlace.
Which one do I book if I am not sure what I need?
Start with a skin consultation, in person if you can get here and virtual if you cannot. If it turns out injectables are the right answer, we will move you across.
Will you tell me the price at the consultation?
Yes, in writing, before anything is booked. Our full pricing is also published on our price list, because we would rather you knew before you walked in.
What should I bring or have ready?
Your current skincare products, so we can see what you are already using. For a virtual consultation, decent natural light if you can manage it. A window beats a ceiling bulb.
How do I book?
Book online through our booking system, or call us at 416-923-1200.
Questions about this treatment?
Ask us anything before you book. Consultations are free, and we will tell you honestly if a treatment is not right for you.
