Thread lifts are not for every face. Knowing whether you are a good candidate before you book saves you time and money. Here is how Bar Beauty Medical Toronto evaluates candidacy.
Ideal candidates
The thread lift sweet spot is patients in their mid-30s through their early 50s with mild to moderate skin laxity, good underlying bone structure, and reasonable skin elasticity. If you can lift the skin gently with your fingers and see the result you want, threads can deliver something close to that lift non-surgically.
Less ideal candidates
Patients with very advanced skin laxity (typically 60 plus, with significant jowl drop and neck banding) often will not get the lift they want from threads alone. Those patients are usually better served by surgical procedures or by a combination of threads with deep RF skin tightening such as Forma or Morpheus 8.
Skin condition matters
Heavy smoking, very thin or fragile skin, and active rosacea are all factors we consider. Smokers have slower collagen response and increased bruising risk. Very thin skin can show thread tracking. Active inflammatory skin conditions need to be controlled before any thread procedure.
What is your goal?
If you want a subtle freshening — a lifted brow, a softer jawline, slight cheek elevation — threads deliver beautifully. If you want a dramatic transformation closer to surgical results, threads will under-deliver and we will tell you that at consultation. Better to know up front than to be disappointed at week six.
Combination approaches
Many of our best results come from combining a thread lift with Botox, dermal filler, and skin tightening over the same six-month plan. Threads lift, filler restores volume, Botox softens dynamic lines, and Forma or Morpheus 8 tightens the skin envelope. Each does what the others cannot.
