What is this treatment actually, in plain language?

Let me skip the marketing pamphlet. This is a facial, not an injectable. An aesthetician works the face by hand to move fluid and lift muscle tone, then lays on the Esthemax Contour Mask, which sets and holds the face with a gentle constrictive feel while it does its work. You leave with the face looking less puffy and reading tighter. Nothing has been injected and nothing has been resurfaced, so there is nothing to recover from.

The technical details matter less than the patient question: does this fix the thing you actually came in for? That is what the appointment opens with. If the honest answer is a decongesting facial, a peel, or something structural, we will say so instead of selling you this one.

Who is this treatment right for, in our Toronto patient base?

In our chair, the patient who benefits most is someone who:

• Has something coming up. A wedding, a shoot, a first day, a flight that lands the night before
• Wants the face to look less puffy and more defined without a needle anywhere near it
• Cannot take downtime, because there is none to take
• Understands this is an appearance-level result, not a structural one
• Is not trying to solve active acne, congestion or laxity with it, because a different appointment does each of those properly

If the last two are missing, we recommend something else instead. That decision happens before any payment is taken.

Who is this treatment not right for?

The honest list:

• Active skin infection, an open lesion or a cold sore in the treatment area
• An active rosacea flare, or eczema across the area the mask would cover
• Skin still raw from a retinoid, a peel or a resurfacing treatment
• A known sensitivity to anything in the mask, which is checked before it goes on
• Anyone booking it to fix laxity, active acne or congestion, because it is the wrong appointment for all three

Most of these are a delay rather than a refusal, and where the skin is clear in some zones and not others we can work around the clear zones. You get told which of the two it is before you pay.

How much does this cost at Bar Beauty Medical?

Real numbers from our Jane App booking system, mirrored on our price list. We don’t negotiate at the chair, we don’t have hidden fees, and the consult is free.

• Sculpt & Define Facial: $180. That is the whole appointment, Canadian dollars, before tax
• 80 minutes booked, 60 of them hands-on. Jane holds the longer slot so the appointment is not run to a stopwatch
• No package rate. There is no multi-session bundle for this facial in our booking system, so we do not publish one. Book it three times and you pay $180 three times
• Nothing gets added at the chair. If something else suits you better you get told, not upsold

It sits in the middle of our facial menu. The full price list carries every facial we book, and every figure on it comes from the same booking feed as the $180 above.

What does the appointment actually look like?

1. Online intake through Jane App before you arrive, including anything your skin has reacted to
2. A look at the skin with your aesthetician, so the mask does not go onto something it should not
3. Cleanse and prep
4. Targeted facial massage to move fluid and work muscle tone. This is the part doing the lifting
5. The Esthemax Contour Mask, laid on and left to set
6. Mask off, finish, SPF

Jane books 80 minutes and records 60 of them as treatment time. How long each part gets inside that is set by your aesthetician on the day, against what your skin is doing, which is why we are not printing a minute-by-minute protocol we would then have to break. There is no numbing, no needle and no recovery. You can go straight back to work, or straight to the thing you booked it for.

How long do results last?

We do not publish a number for this one, and that is deliberate. A massage-and-mask facial works on circulation, on fluid, and on the surface of the skin. That is a real effect and you can see it in the mirror on the way out, but nothing in the product literature or in our own records supports printing a duration for it, so we do not print one. Treat it as something you book close to when you need to look your best.

If what you want is a result measured in months, that is a different conversation and different treatments. Neuromodulators run 3 to 4 months, HA filler 9 to 18, biostimulators 18 to 24, and Morpheus 8 compounds across a series. We would rather point you at the right one than sell you the wrong one repeatedly.

Who’s actually doing the work at Bar Beauty?

A Medical Aesthetician. Julia Barabas, our Medical Aesthetician and Glow Specialist, and Saba Deyhim, Medical Aesthetician, Skin and Laser, run our facial menu. No nurse and no needle is involved in this appointment.

All protocols at Bar Beauty operate under Dr. Henneberry-Fudge’s standing orders. He’s an MD, FRCPC, CPSO #95972, and he is our Medical Director. That oversight covers the clinic as a whole, including the facial side, even though a facial is not a medical procedure.

What should I avoid before and after?

Before:
. Come with a clean face if you can, and tell us about anything you have reacted to
. Skip retinoids, acids and vitamin C for 48 hours beforehand, the same window our other facials use
. Do not book it the same day as a peel, dermaplaning or a laser session
. Tell us if you have an active cold sore anywhere

After:
. Skip retinoids, acids and vitamin C for 48 hours
. Mineral SPF daily, which is not negotiable after any facial
. Makeup the same day is fine, there is nothing to protect
. Follow the printed aftercare card

Can I go straight back to work?

Yes. Nothing is injected, nothing is abraded and nothing is resurfaced, so there is nothing to hide and nothing to wait out. Some people are a little pink from the massage for half an hour. Makeup goes straight back on if you want it.

The compliment most of our patients hear is “you look rested,” which is both the ceiling on what a facial like this does and exactly why people book it the day before something.

How is this different from other treatments at your clinic?

Every price in that table is the live figure from our booking system, in Canadian dollars, before tax. If you are choosing between them, the short version is that Sculpt & Define is the one you book for how the face reads on the day, and the others are the ones you book for what the skin is doing.

What does my long-term programme look like?

Honestly, for most people this facial is not a programme, it is an appointment you book when you need one. We are not going to invent a cadence for it, because nothing supports a particular one.

Where it does earn a place in a longer plan is as the slot right before something, sitting around the treatments doing the actual work:

• A skin-health protocol carrying the load, Aerolase, microneedling or a peel, on its own schedule
• A skincare programme, SkinCeuticals, ZO, or a similar medical-grade line
• Daily mineral SPF 50, non-negotiable
• This facial slotted in before the wedding, the shoot or the flight

Booked that way it is a finishing touch on a plan rather than the plan itself. That is the honest framing, and it is the one that stops people paying a facial to do a job it cannot do.

What Does the Science Actually Say?

We try to keep marketing claims downstream of evidence. On a facial that means being clear about which claims are ours and which are the manufacturer’s.

What the massage does. Hands-on facial massage moves interstitial fluid and works the muscle underneath it. That is why the face looks less puffy and reads tighter straight afterwards. It is a real, visible, short-lived effect, and we are comfortable describing it because you can see it yourself in the mirror at the end of the appointment.

What the mask is. The Esthemax Contour Mask is formulated with Argireline and sets on the skin with a gentle constrictive feel. The manufacturer’s claims for it are that it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, minimises pores and boosts collagen production. Those are the manufacturer’s claims, not our clinical findings, and we are labelling them as such rather than repeating them as though we had measured them ourselves.

What we will not claim. We will not tell you a mask lifts a jawline, tightens laxity, or does what a filler, a biostimulator or a radiofrequency device does. It does not, and a clinic saying otherwise is selling you the wrong thing. If your concern is structural, the honest answer is a different appointment, and sometimes the honest answer is that it is too early to do anything at all.

The honest version: nothing in aesthetic medicine is magic, and a facial is the least magic thing on the menu. It is a good appointment that does a specific, modest, visible job. Anything a clinic claims beyond that, we’d ask for citations.

What’s the Real Cost Over 12 Months?

The single-session price is the whole conversation on this one, which is unusual for us and worth saying plainly.

One appointment: $180. There is no package, no course, no membership and no bundle for this facial in our booking system, so there is nothing else to add up. Book it once and you have paid $180. Book it four times across a year and you have paid $720. In Canadian dollars, before tax.

What actually blows a facial budget. Booking a facial repeatedly to solve a problem a facial cannot solve. If you are back every three weeks because the jawline still is not where you want it, you are spending money in the wrong place, and we would rather tell you that than keep taking it. That conversation is free.

Where the money should go instead, if that is you. Structural concerns go to injectables, laxity goes to energy devices, congestion and texture go to peels, microneedling or the decongesting facials, and pigment and redness go to the Aerolase. Every one of those is priced on our price list, and every figure there comes from the same booking feed as the $180 above.

FAQ, Patient Questions We Hear Most Often

Is this treatment safe?

Yes. Nothing is injected and nothing breaks the skin. The safety questions on a facial are what is in the mask and what state the skin is in before it goes on, and both are checked at the start of the appointment. All Bar Beauty protocols operate under Dr. Henneberry-Fudge’s standing orders.

How do I know if it’s right for me?

The free consult. We look at your skin, listen to your concern, and recommend the treatment that fits, sometimes that’s this one, sometimes it’s another, sometimes it’s nothing yet.

Does it hurt?

No. It is massage and a mask. The mask has a tightening feel as it sets, which most people find pleasant rather than uncomfortable. Say so if the pressure of the massage is too firm and it gets adjusted.

How soon will I see results?

By the end of the appointment. That immediacy is the point of it, and it is also why people book it the day before something rather than a month before.

How long does it last?

We do not publish a figure. It is a circulation and surface effect rather than a structural one, and nothing we have supports printing a number, so we don’t. If you need a result measured in months, book something that gives you one.

What if I don’t like the result?

There is nothing to undo. Nothing was placed in your face and nothing was taken out of it, so if the facial is not for you, you simply do not book it again. Tell us why though, because it usually means we should have pointed you at a different appointment.

Can I combine this with my other treatments?

Yes, with sensible spacing. Do not stack it on the same day as a peel, dermaplaning or a laser session, and let the skin settle after any of those before you book it. We’ll map the order so the calendar works as one plan.

Who actually performs the treatment?

A Medical Aesthetician. This is facial work, not injectable work, so no nurse and no needle is involved. All under Dr. Henneberry-Fudge’s MD oversight.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, one support person is welcome. No children under 12 in the treatment room for safety reasons.

What’s the parking situation?

We are at 46 Fort York Blvd, CityPlace Toronto. We have two free spots at the clinic, first come first served, so they are very limited. If both are taken, there is public parking beside the Sobeys at Fort York Blvd and Telegram Mews, a public lot that is not ours, so we do not validate it and rates are set by the operator. There is also street parking in the area.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

24-hour notice through Jane or by phone.

Is this treatment safe for darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV-VI)?

Yes, and there is no wavelength question here because there is no device. Massage and a topical mask carry no phototype risk at all. The only thing that matters is whether your skin tolerates the mask, which is checked before it goes on. For the treatments where phototype does matter, our Aerolase Neo Elite at 1064 nm is genuinely safe across all phototypes and is our default for vascular and pigment work in darker skin.

Can I do this while breastfeeding?

Yes. Our own guidance already says most facials are fine throughout nursing, and this one involves no injection, no device and no downtime. Tell your aesthetician anyway, because skin can be more reactive and both the pressure and the products get adjusted for it. Injectables are the ones we defer, and that is a separate conversation with Dr. Henneberry-Fudge.

How does this compare to Yorkville pricing at twice the price?

In most cases the product is identical, the training is comparable, and the differential is rent, location, and brand premium, not clinical skill. We’ve corrected enough work from Yorkville addresses to know that price does not track outcome reliably. We publish prices because the patient deserves to know what they’re paying for.

Can I get this treatment if I’m on Ozempic or another GLP-1 medication?

Yes, with nothing to plan around. A facial is not affected by GLP-1 status. Where it does matter is the structural side: significant weight loss redistributes facial fat over six to twelve months, so we stage filler and biostimulator decisions for patients in active weight loss and revisit at every visit.

Will I look “done” when I go back to work the next day?

No, because there is nothing to look done from. A facial like this has the opposite risk: not that it is too obvious, but that it is subtle and short-lived, which is exactly what you should expect for $180 and no needles. Book it for the day you need to look your best, not a month out.
