What your lips will look like every day for the first two weeks. Spoiler: it's normal, and it gets better.
Day 0 (the day of)
Lips will look swollen and feel firm immediately after injection. Expect 30 to 50% more volume than the final result — that’s tissue swelling, not filler. Some pinpoint bruising at injection sites is normal. Ice in 15-minute intervals for the first 24 hours. Sleep elevated.
Day 1
Peak swelling. Lips may feel uneven or asymmetric. Don’t panic. We don’t assess shape until day 14. Bruising (if any) is at its darkest. Continue icing, sleep elevated, no exercise, no alcohol, no salty food.
Day 2 to 3
Swelling starts to drop noticeably. Bruising shifts from purple to greenish-yellow. Lips still look fuller than final result. Most patients can return to work — some still notice the swelling, no one can tell you got filler.
Day 4 to 7
Most of the swelling is gone. Bruising fading or fully resolved. Lips still slightly larger than final but very close. You can wear lipstick and kiss aggressively again. Do not get a massage, dental work, or facial during this window — let the filler integrate cleanly.
Day 7 to 14
Lips integrate fully. Final shape and volume become visible. This is when we want you back for a 2-week follow-up to assess.
Day 14 onward
Final result. Lips feel soft, look natural in motion, and should hold beautifully for 6 to 12 months depending on the filler and your metabolism. Quarterly touch-ups maintain the look indefinitely.
