Tear Trough Filler Cost in Toronto: 2026 Pricing
In short: At Bar Beauty Medical (46 Fort York Blvd, CityPlace), a tear trough (under-eye) treatment is $850 in 2026, performed with a blunt cannula by licensed RNs with advanced under-eye training. Across the wider downtown Toronto market, tear trough filler is commonly quoted at $600 to $900 per syringe, and most patients need half a syringe to one full syringe to treat both sides. The under-eye is the highest-risk filler area on the face, so bargain-shopping it is one of the bigger mistakes Toronto patients make.
What You’re Actually Paying For
Tear trough pricing is not just product. You are paying for:
- Product. Thin, low-swelling HA designed for the under-eye behaves differently from cheek or lip gel.
- Injector expertise. The under-eye has thin skin, visible vessels, and major nerves. A licensed RN with advanced under-eye training reduces the risk of bruising, lumps, a blue-grey cast (the Tyndall effect), and rare but serious vascular events.
- Cannula, not needle. At Bar Beauty we use a blunt-tipped cannula for tear troughs, which lowers bruising and vascular risk versus a sharp needle.
- Overhead. A downtown clinic carries different rent than a suburban one, and that shows up in the price.

Redensity-1 vs Redensity-2: How They Differ
Both come from the same Swiss manufacturer (Teoxane) but do completely different jobs, and mixing them up is a common error in Toronto med-spa copy.
Redensity-1: a skin booster, not a volumiser
Redensity-1 is an HA skin booster we use for deep hydration, overall skin quality and glow, fine lines caused by surface dehydration, and crepey skin on the cheeks, neck, or hands. It gives glow and hydration, not volume. At Bar Beauty, a Redensity-1 skin booster starts at $500 per 1cc session. If your goal is to fill a hollow or restore lost volume, you need a volumising filler instead.
Redensity-2: an under-eye-specific filler
Redensity-2 is formulated for the under-eye. Its lower water-binding capacity means it does not swell the way standard fillers can in delicate periorbital skin, so the result looks more natural and lowers the risk of morning puffiness and the bluish Tyndall cast. We place under-eye HA deep, with a cannula, never with a needle.
Why “Cheap Tear Trough Filler” Is a Red Flag
If you see tear trough advertised at $300 to $400 per syringe in Toronto, ask: is the injector a licensed RN or MD, how long have they done under-eye specifically, cannula or needle, do they keep hyaluronidase on site for immediate reversal, and what product is it? Cheap pricing often means an inexperienced injector, generic filler not suited to the under-eye, or needle injection with higher bruising and vascular risk. The savings are not worth a year of lumpy under-eyes or a vascular event.
What Affects Your Individual Cost
- How much volume you need. Some patients need 0.5 syringe total; others need a full syringe split between sides.
- Whether cheeks need support first. True tear-trough hollows often start as cheek volume loss. Filling the trough without cheek support can look lumpy, so we may recommend cheek filler first.
- Whether you are a candidate at all. Skin laxity, fat pseudoherniation, or very thin orbital skin can make filler look worse, not better. We will tell you honestly if you are not a candidate and point you to alternatives such as under-eye PRP, microneedling, or a surgical referral.
When You Are Not a Candidate
Patients with significant orbital fat herniation, deep periorbital skin laxity, established festoons, or active malar oedema are usually poor candidates for filler, and a lower-lid blepharoplasty referral is the appropriate path. A reputable clinic will say no and refer to an oculoplastic surgeon when filler is not indicated. Be wary of any clinic that quotes a tear-trough price without examining the lid first.
How Long Does Tear Trough Filler Last?
Most patients see results last 9 to 15 months. Because the under-eye area moves very little, some under-eye placements last toward 18 months. Metabolism, sleep, and sun exposure all play a role.
Treatment Day
- 15 to 30 minute appointment
- Numbing cream for 10 to 15 minutes (most products also contain lidocaine)
- Cannula placement in the lower under-eye
- Mild swelling for 24 to 72 hours; bruising possible for up to a week
- Final result visible at about 2 weeks
- Avoid blood thinners and alcohol 24 hours before and after

Red Flags: When to Walk Out of a Toronto Clinic
- A flat price quoted before anyone examines your anatomy. That is marketing, not a treatment plan.
- No emergency reversal on premises. Hyaluronidase must be stocked, in date, and within reach. Ask to see it.
- An injector who cannot name the product brand and lot. Every Health Canada-approved injectable has a lot number recorded in your chart.
- Pressure to add on treatments while you are in the chair and numb. The plan belongs in the consult.
- Guaranteed results or a “lifetime warranty.” No ethical professional guarantees a biological outcome.
- Groupon or stacked discount codes for injectables. Deep discounting on prescription-grade product is a sourcing red flag. Ask for the Health Canada DIN on your receipt.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does tear trough filler cost in Toronto?
At Bar Beauty Medical, a tear trough treatment for both under-eyes is $850 in 2026. Across the wider downtown Toronto market it is commonly $600 to $900 per syringe, with most patients needing half a syringe to one full syringe.
How much is under-eye filler in Toronto?
Under-eye (tear trough) filler is $850 at Bar Beauty, performed with a cannula by an RN with advanced under-eye training. If your concern is skin quality rather than a hollow, an under-eye Redensity-1 skin booster starts at $500.
How long does tear trough filler last?
Generally 9 to 15 months, and sometimes up to 18 months because the under-eye area moves so little.
Is tear trough filler safe?
When performed by a licensed RN or MD with proper training and a cannula, it is safe. The under-eye carries higher complication risk than other facial areas, so choose your injector carefully and confirm they keep hyaluronidase on site.
Why might I need cheek filler first?
True tear-trough hollows often begin as cheek volume loss. Adding cheek support first can give a smoother, more natural under-eye result and sometimes reduces how much under-eye product you need.
What is the alternative if I am not a candidate?
Under-eye PRP uses your own blood-derived growth factors to improve dark circles and crepiness, microneedling improves texture, and some patients are better served by a surgical referral. We will tell you which path fits.
How much does it cost to dissolve tear trough filler?
Bar Beauty charges $150 per area for hyaluronidase. The wider Toronto market is often $200 to $400. Dissolving works only on HA filler.
Is the price all-inclusive?
Yes. At Bar Beauty the $850 includes consultation, product, consumables, photography, and the follow-up review.
Can I get tear trough filler covered by OHIP or insurance?
No. Cosmetic under-eye filler is not covered by OHIP, and most extended health plans exclude cosmetic injectables.
