What it does
Vivier lists three benefits: hydration that is immediate and lasts, a visible lift in lip volume, contour and definition, and protection against dryness and environmental stress. The brand also says it softens the look of vertical lip lines. In Vivier’s own testing, every tester noticed softer lips after one week and 90 percent noticed better hydration. The product page does not say how many people were tested.
Key ingredients
Vivier calls the formula 3D Lip Technology. It pairs hyaluronic acid in three molecular weights, which Vivier names HA³ Volume Spheres, with a three-peptide blend it calls the Tri-Peptide Contour Complex, plus vitamin C, vitamin E and rosemary leaf extract as its AOX³ Defense System. The base also includes petrolatum, the same ingredient dermatologists suggest for chapped lips, and squalane.
Who it is for
Vivier says it suits all lips, especially dry, dehydrated or compromised ones. It is not filler and it does not replace filler. It is for anyone who wants softer, smoother-looking lips day to day, and for filler patients who want to keep their lips hydrated between appointments.
How to use it
Apply a thin layer to the lips and lip line with the applicator, at least three times a day, per Vivier. Wear it on its own or under lipstick, and reapply whenever your lips feel dry. If you have just had lip filler, Vivier says to wait 48 hours before using it.
If your lips are already cracked
The formula is lightly scented with natural orange oil, which Vivier uses instead of synthetic fragrance. The American Academy of Dermatology lists citrus among the flavours that can irritate chapped lips. If yours are cracked or sore, heal them first with plain white petroleum jelly, then start this once they feel normal again. And if any lip product burns or tingles, that is irritation, not a sign that it is working.
